For decades group travel has been one of the most popular forms of travel available. For more than 20 years, Groups Tasmania we has been providing Clubs and groups from all over the world the opportunity to explore our wonderful State without the pressure of having to plan an itinerary or book everything themselves.

Group touring is about being shown around by locals and really capturing the essence of the destination. It means seeing the famous attractions but also wandering off the tourist trail. So much more than just a coach tour, you’ll experience the culture, meet the locals and savour the wonderful food.

Our well-balanced itineraries are designed with the traveller in mind. We put great effort into getting the right balance between organised touring and free time, after all it is a holiday! With the Spirit of Tasmania providing the means for individuals to bring their pride and joys across Bass Strait, it has never been easier to access or island state.

Having previously organised tours our rallies for Clubs with over 100 people at a time, Groups Tasmania is well placed to give you and your mechanical masterpiece a trip to remember.

“Hi mate just a quick note to say that I haven’t seen 20 people smile so much and have the time of there life well done and every thing ran like clock work I take my hat off to you and if you are ever in Melbourne dinner is on me well done.”
John Fautley, Eildon Boat Club
“Overall a most relaxing holiday with over 2500 kms touring within Tasmania from “The Nut” in the north to Southport in the south including 8 National Parks and most other venues of interest in between. Thank you!”
Bob Twine , Pontiac Car Club

Educational Tours

Tasmania is a popular destination for educational tours with its history, scenery and perceived isolation from the rest of Australia playing a major role in drawing schools to Tasmania for a memorable life experience.

Tasmania is wonderfully diverse and offers a wide range of educational, cultural and adventure activities. It is not a destination where you stay in one location and have day excursions, but to truly experience all the State has to offer you need a touring itinerary including multiple accommodation locations throughout the State.

With educational tours providing a memorable event in every child’s life it is important to have a well planned itinerary maximising your time between educational and recreational activities. Groups Tasmania is happy to assist with the organisation of educational tours to take much of that unwanted stress away from the teachers and excursion co-ordinators.

As a licensed Tourism Operator Groups Tasmania is able to assist with everything from the itinerary planning to organising your connecting travel (by air or sea), coaches, accommodation and activities.

“Just letting you know we had a fantastic trip. The itinerary was very good, considering the difficulty with flights, and we would keep a similar itinerary next year. The students had a great time (as did Carol and myself) and everything ran smoothly. A special thanks to the support staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Kerry was an excellent driver- very safe and accommodating throughout the trip. I’m sure Taminmin will plan to run a similar trip next year and this would be done through Group’s Tasmania.”
Morris Pizzutto , Taminmin College

“Hi David,Once again we had a client come back to tell us about your exceptional service (Hong Kong Sarah). She told us that she will tell all of her friends in Hong Kong about your exceptional service and the wonderful places she saw. Also I would like you to read an email that Sarah M (our Launceston/Irish Travel Consultant) shared with our travel centre staff. Thankyou David for helping Launceston raise standards in tourism. Keep up the good work.”
Angus Cameron, Launceston Travel and Information Centre
“Hi All,I meant to send this on Sunday but David was brilliant over the weekend. The charter which he was speaking about was for me and really got the 4 people out of a bind. It also meant that the TC was able to sell over $2500 which is great. I think that David’s the best thing to happen to tourism in Launceston for a long time. He’s obliging, motivated and very very customer oriented. Pleasure to deal with, as you all probably know. I definitely think he should be a priority operator for the centre as you know hell go above and beyond for his guests. “
Sarah McLaughlin, Development Planner - Launceston City Council
“Hi Angus,we would like to thank you so much for recommending & booking our day tour to Bay of Fires with David Luttrell. We had such a fun & enjoyable day.David was so interesting & patient. We would strongly recommend you pass on his genuine work to other tourists.”

“Over the past 15 years Sharon and I (Bill) have travelled in and around Australia by train (Indian Pacific, Overlander, Ghan, Country Link, Tilt Train and City Trains), and Coach. We leave our car at home. When we arrive at our chosen destinations we seek out small Tourist Operators and enjoy listening and talking to them on Day Tours. We have done this from the following places: – Darwin, Cairns, Sydney, Melbourne, Bourke, Lightning Ridge, Perth, Adelaide, Alice Springs, Launceston, Hobart and others places. We found all these small Tour Operators to be friendly, interesting and well versed in the history of the places that we choose to visit. For us, to date, our Day Tour with David Luttrell, of Coach Tours Tasmania, in Launceston, was the most outstanding Day Tour we have taken. Our experience with David on our Day Tour into the countryside outside of Launceston was interesting, informative, very relaxing, memorable and above all very friendly, very courteous and importantly we were not rushed. Happy Day Touring with David.”
Sharon and Bill
Thank you so much for your excellent tour arrangement. I enjoy the wonderful walk in cradle mountain.
