Day 1: Arrive Launceston (D)
Your tour commences by meeting your Tasmanian Coach Captain in the reception
of the Balmoral on York at 1:00pm. After introductions are made, board the
coach and travel to the Longford where a guided tour of Woolmer's Estate
will allow you to catch a glimpse at the history of the northern midlands.
After your tour make your way back to Launceston's iconic Cataract Gorge
Reserve on the door step of the city where you can explore its scenery and
beauty via the many walking tracks.

Day 2: Tamar Valley (B D)
Travel to the Tamar Valley
region to visit the Swiss style Village of Grindelwald and browse through
the many novelty shops there. From Brady's Lookout you can see all the way
down the valley so have the cameras ready as this is your next stop before
making your way to the Gold & Heritage Museum at Beaconsfield , the site of
'The Great Escape'. After lunch visit a local winery for some tastings
before crossing over the Batman Bridge, one of the world's first cable-stayed truss
bridges as you make your way back to Launceston via the eastern side of the
Tamar River.
Day 3: Cradle Mountain (B L D)
Today travel to one of Tasmania's best known icons, Cradle Mountain National
Park. Enjoy a tour to Dove Lake where on a clear day the craggy peak of
Cradle Mountain can be seen. Whilst at Cradle Mountain enjoy lunch and visit
a local wilderness gallery. You will also have a chance to get up close and
personal with a Tasmanian Devil as you visit Devils @ Cradle a Tasmanian
Devil Sanctuary. Make your way to Devonport via Sheffield the mural
capital of Australia.

Day 4: North West Day Tour (B D)
Travel to Burnie for a guided tour of the Paper Makers' Workshop. Try
your hand at paper making and visit the contemporary museum and arts centre. From here travel onto the seaside township
of Stanley made famous by the granite monolith towering over the village
below. You can opt to take a chairlift ride to the summit for spectacular views down the
coastline and out to Bass Strait or spend time exploring the village. Travel back down the
coast to Devonport stopping at some scenic spots along the way including the
Table Cape scenic drive. Your last stop today is in Devonport at the
Tiagarra Aboriginal Centre.
Day 5: Devonport to Launceston (B)
Last day in Tassie! As you make your way back to Launceston today your stops
will include Anvers House of Chocolate to discover the fine art of chocolate
making, a Cherry Shed where you can purchase some fresh Tasmanian Cherries,
Ashgrove Cheese Farm where you can taste and purchase some of the finest
cheese in the world and a Silk Artwork display in Deloraine. From here our coach captain will deliver anybody that is flying out
today to Launceston airport by 3:00pm whilst those that are staying on can
be delivered to any city hotel. |
